About our Church

Objectives and Activities

The primary objective of St Wilfrid’s, Parklands is to be an Anglican Church community which seeks to live out the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through sacramental worship and outreach to the wider community.  The PCC works closely with the Parish Priest, Father Phil Ritchie, in seeking to shape the mission of the Church in all aspects of our life together.

Achievements and Performance

There are 157 parishioners on the Church Electoral Roll, 36 of whom are not resident within the parish.  An additional 4 names were added during the year and 2 were removed either through death or because they moved away from the area.  The average weekly attendance, counted during October, was 116 but this number increased at festivals.

College Chaplaincy

Father Phil is chaplain to the local FE college.  He spends the equivalent of one day a week there.  There is a weekly Mass on Thursdays.  A small Chaplaincy team run several events throughout the year as well as a weekly bible study on Tuesdays for International students.  You can meet us in term time in the main Coasters canteen on Wednesdays between 12.15 and
2.00 pm.
