Safeguarding

As a church we take our safeguarding responsibilities towards children and adults who may be vulnerable seriously, and work to ensure that everyone in our congregation can take part in church life safely.

We have a robust recruitment process for the many volunteers who are so essential to our church activities, we review the latest guidance from the Church of England and statutory agencies, and we put their recommendations into practice promptly. The PCC has adopted the House of Bishops’ policy Promoting a Safer Church.

• If you are an adult and need support about something that is happening or has happened to you, the Diocese of Chichester lists organisations that can help: I have been abused – where can I get help?

• To report a concern to the statutory authorities in Sussex, choose the situation that best describes your concern and follow the advice: What do I do if… Please also let the Diocesan Safeguarding Team know once you have contacted the authorities.
